Card Account Registration Verification via Power of Attorney Guide for become.1 Administrators

Important ground rules before you start


Before you start entering data in the portal, please make sure to note these two central points:

  1. Use YOUR email address: During the opening process, it is mandatory that you enter your own email address, which is also used for your become.1 administrator account. Please do not enter the email address of the management or the UBOs here! Otherwise, this will lead to linking errors later when you want to distribute the card budgets to your workforce.
  2. The power of attorney template: You will need a power of attorney document signed by your management. You have already received the appropriate template for this from us with your onboarding documents.
  3. Additionally, you can find it HERE.

Step-by-step guide

The actual registration process guides you through the legal company details and the inquiry of the ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs). If you are not the UBO yourself, proceed as follows:

Step 1: Start the process & confirm representation

  1. Log in to the portal and click on Change role in the bottom left corner to access the Admin view.
  2. Select become.1 Card in the menu and click Start within the payment account.
  3. The system will now ask you if you are the legal representative of the organization. Select "Yes" here (even if strictly speaking you are not. The system needs this selection so that you can continue the process with the power of attorney).

Step 2: Enter company details & UBOs

Follow the steps in the form and enter the legal data of your company as well as the data of the actual ultimate beneficial owners (persons with more than 25% company shares).

Step 3: Identity verification process & document upload at the bank

  1. After entering the data on your desktop, you complete the process via your smartphone. You will receive an SMS for this and will be guided through a short, identity verification process.
  2. The crucial step: At the end of the process, you will be asked by our partner bank (Swan) to upload proof documents.
  3. At this point, upload the power of attorney document signed by your management. 

What happens next?

After you have completed the process and uploaded the power of attorney, our partner bank Swan checks the documents. As soon as the verification is successful, the account will be opened.

In the next step, you can then set up the B2B SEPA direct debit mandate and carry out a test debit to make the card completely ready to go for your employees.
