What is the difference between the benefit settings "Active in issue month" and "Active on issue day"?
In this article, you will learn as an administrator how the two activity settings affect the distribution of benefits. This ensures that regular vouchers and mid-month extras (like birthday vouchers) are always distributed correctly, even if employees are paused.
How to find the setting
- Open your admin access.
- Click on Company management.
- Switch to the Benefit settings tab.
- Within the General Settings section, you can find the option to change the settings directly.
The two settings compared
- Active on issue day (Reference date check): The employee only receives the voucher if they are active on the exact day of the planned issue. For example, if we issue regular vouchers on the 1st of the month and the user is paused exactly on the 1st, they will not receive a voucher. The same applies to a birthday on the 15th: if they are paused on this exact day, no voucher is issued.
- Active in issue month (Period check): It is sufficient if the employee was active on a single day in the respective month to receive the voucher – regardless of their status on the exact issue date. For example, if a user has a birthday on the 15th but is already paused on this day, they will still receive the voucher if they were active earlier in the month (e.g., on the 5th).
IMPORTANT: Pay special attention to this distinction for vouchers issued mid-month (like birthday vouchers). This prevents employees from accidentally missing out due to short or recent pauses.
